Now that we've unofficially entered the Summer season in the US it's time to take care of some very important housekeeping on your website.
Surly you're already planning your vacation days and early closings. You need to put your change of hours on your website as early as possible.
Let's take a look at the last 30 days of collected data to explain why this is important...
These are 3 of the most popular pages across our tracked jewelry sites, and the percentage of people who read those pages.
Home Page, read by 24.53% of visitors
Store Hours, read by 0.86% of visitors
Contact Us, read by 0.41% of visitors
Typically the jewelry catalog pages are more popular than the Contact Us, but not as popular as the Store Hours page.
To make these numbers more understandable, let's use the example of 1000 visitors to your own website over the last 30 days. That would give you 246 people looking at your Home Page, 9 people looking at your Store Hours page, and 4 people looking at your Contact Us.
Those numbers aren't big, but that's because we're only using 1000 as the example.
Diving deeper into the data we also see that 52.78% of the leave a jewelry website after viewing the Store Hours and 43.51% of people leave after viewing the Contact Us page.
54.78% of 9 is 4.9 people
43.51% of 4 is 1.7 people
Those are the amount of people who specifically went to your site to find out how to get to you and what time you are open. Again, these are only small numbers because of our example. You'd have to check your own total monthly visitor counts for more accurate numbers.
Don't disappoint your customers during the summer season. Everyone is allowed to take a vacation, just update the hours on your website and your customers won't have a reason to get upset with you.
Specifically, you need to update these pages:
1. Home page
2. Store Hours page
3. Contact Us page
4. Mobile website
