Happy Jewelers #FridayFlopFix Website Review

Happy Jewelers FridayFlopFix Website Review daily-golden-nugget-1512-39
Welcome to my weekly website review. Every Friday, I randomly look for a jewelry store website that has a few problems, that I call flops, and then I suggest ways to fix them. These short website reviews are not meant for the store itself but rather you, the reader. My hope is that you will discover something here that you also need to fix on your own site.

This week I used the phrase "jewelers Newport, RI" to search for my review candidate. Instead of choosing a jewelry store from the first page of the Google res...

Jewelry Store Holiday Hours

by
Many jewelry stores we've worked with do not have regular 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm store hours. Some have morning and afternoon hours and close for lunch, and many personal jewelers have morning hours some days and afternoon hours on other days. Most of the jewelry stores we know will also be closed on Sunday and Monday every week throughout the year.

Although we've not been able to test the features on every type of phone, our initial results should be the same on all smartphones.

From your smart phone, do a Google search for "jewelry store."

On the mobile SERP you should see map. Right above the map there should be a button that says "Use my location." When you click that button you should get a pop-up notice asking permission to use your current location. Go ahead and allow that.

The SERP should redisplay with a messag...

Holiday Hours

by
Quite some time ago, while we were A/B testing one of our websites, we discovered that your store hours should be posted on a page by themselves.

This single, dedicated page allows you to track exactly when people visit your website only to see when you're open.

While reviewing statistics from the past few years, we noticed a trend similar to the online activity we mentioned last week.

In November, the number of views of the Contact Us and Store Hours page increases each Saturday.

The Friday, Saturday, and Sunday right after Thanksgiving all have the highest number of Contact/Hours views for the entire season. More than double!

Then, throughout December, we have a consistent trend of more views each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Here's what we can determine if we correlate the data prese...
