Your Engagement Ring Store is Not a Wedding Ring Shop

by
We've covered a few different topics about meta descriptions and meta keywords over the past few days. Today we'll continue with some ideas how to avoid keyword stuffing.

Month after month our own compiled research always shows these keyword phrases among the most frequent searched:

jewelry store
jewelry stores
engagement ring stores
wedding ring stores

Basic SEO strategies dictate that you must include the words jewelry, stores, engagement, wedding, and ring on your website if you want to be found. But don't over use the words; otherwise you might look like a spammer. An overused keyword is one that appears unnecessarily on the page. Imagine the English language without pronouns; how annoying would it be to keep repeating someone proper name over and over again while talking to them? If you can imagine that, then you will understand what keyword overuse is.

Instead of repeating the same words, let's show you a little trick to find other interchangeable words in the Google index.

Take a very close look at the SERP when you search Google for "wedding ring stores". All the words in bold should match the words you search for, but there are even more. On our screen, a search for "wedding ring stores" shows all these words bolded:

Shop
Store
Jewelry
Jewelry store
Jewelry stores
Engagement rings
Wedding rings
Wedding ring
Bridal rings
Bridal

As we dig deeper into Google word relationships, we find the following patterns that you can use.

The phrase "jewelry stores" will trigger results including the words "stores", "store", "buy", "shopping", and "shop".

The word "jewelry" will trigger results including the words "jewelry", "jewelers", and "jewellery".

The phrase "wedding ring" will trigger results including the words "bridal", "wedding", and "engagement".

Although the word "wedding" will trigger the words "engagement" and "bridal", we find that searching for "engagement" mostly turns up engagement results.

The process we just demonstrated is good for your own keyword research. Our simple research shows that if you want to include the words jewelry, stores, engagement, wedding, and ring on your website, you can use this entire related list of words to help reduce your keyword over usage:

Wedding
Engagement
Bridal
Jewelry
Jewelers
Jewellery
Stores
Store
Buy
Shopping
Shop
